You make a goog point - 'don't give up already'. Good hub on making money writing.
Great hub, iamlegend! For the longest, I've been considering a career in freelance writing as I want to write full-time for a living. I'm doing my research now on different sites of freelance writing that are more than willing to pay authors. But, some of them give you the runaround and their submission guidelines can be quite awkward and I don't necessarily want to burn myself out. Then, I'm the type of person who likes to see the money and get paid upfront, rather than on a commission base method. That's why I was skeptical about joining Hubpages at first because of how writers receive income. After a bunch of running around and trying to find a site that's suitable for me, I finally decided, the hell with it and chose Hubpages. I like Hubpages because not only you can write articles, you can write poetry as well and poetry is my specialty. So, I've toughen it out and sticking with Hubpages as the success from it is not going to happen overnight. I also must realize that I'm quite a salesman too and to gain some income and success, I have to sell myself just like a writer has to. The best focus I'm exercising now through this experience is patience as I'm taking it all one day at a time.
I'M hoping that I eventually catch on to all the techniques for making money. I do OK on hubscores and writing articles but so far not making money.
Good list of ideas and sites for wannabe bloggers and freelance writers.
thanks for the info , great hub
Thanks for all the info and help! I am struggeling with the English language but love to write hubs.
Useful hub and thanks for sharing your advice.
Cheers and peace to you!
You are right, it is a lot of work....but the great thing is for sites like hubpages, you do the work once, and then get paid for life. Great hub!
Very useful hub. Yes Helium changes their rules but I don't know how regularly for at one stage the minimum word count was 300 and then it went up after a year or so.
Very detailed and informative. This hub is a good reference for sites a writer can use. Thanks for sharing.
Nice hub. I am confused about Software Judge and Epinions. Does Software Judge really pay? I have heard that when we reach the payout $200, they do nothing.
And in Epinions, I have posted some reviews, and they have been published, but still I can see no earnings there.
Dont forget http://www.thisisfreelance.com :P

Awesome. I'm on info barrel as well, but I've only two articles there. They are pretty limiting until you get free reign to just go for it, but I will keep trying there. I got irritated when they shot down one of mine for a link to Al Franken's net neutrality petition.
I've seen Squiddo Lenses, but have no account there, I might join at some point, but I think Hubpages is probably a higher ranking site.
